SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, Feb. 2, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Driveway dealerships will sell contemporary fashion through the DRVWY brand
January 28, 2021 SAN JOSE, California – The four young Asian-American entrepreneurs who started The Driveway Auto Repair Shop have always been obsessed with cars.
Childhood friends Michael Ly, Willie Chac, and Kevin Dang grew up living and breathing. CEO Dang spent countless hours playing racing games as a kid. When he was 9, his father’s untimely death of lung cancer made him indulge his love for cars and racing even more.
The trio bonded in junior high when they discovered a shared passion for cars and began tinkering with vehicles on their own driveway. Eventually they grew into a team of four when they added friend and fellow car fanatic Eranthe Mitome.
The four friends founded The Driveway in 2018 to create a different type of auto repair shop for aesthetics and performance, with the aim of providing their customers with a unique experience. The minority-owned, independent business in San Jose features a progressive lounge area where customers can relax and focus on their own work while waiting for their auto service to be completed. Although they service all makes and models, they mainly specialize in Tesla and Porsche vehicles.
Now the team is going one step further with the introduction of a streetwear line DRVWY on the subject of track. Mitome said adding a line of apparel and gear that bridges the gap between car culture and streetwear was a breeze.
“Our lives are pretty much on the racetrack,” she said, “so it only made sense to create our own lifestyle brand that would encompass the thrill, adrenaline and confidence we feel on the track.”
DRVWY contains a collection of basic clothing and other propulsion made goods with subtle and monochromatic elements.
“We deliberately avoided loud and flashy designs because our consumers want our basic needs to be confident, comfortable and stylish,” said Mitome. “DRVWY is a multifunctional lifestyle brand and an extension of us.”
