Gunner detained at San Jose mall after alleged gunshot threat

A man with a loaded gun was arrested at a mall in Northern California Wednesday afternoon after streamed live on Snapchat saying he wanted to “shoot” the mall, police said.

The man, who had dark clothes and striking purple shoulder-length hair, was taken to the Westfield Valley Fair Mall and arrested about 45 minutes after the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, Police Spokesman Steve, reported the threats to the San Jose Police Department Aponte.

Police “went through the mall, located the suspect and finally took him into custody without incident,” Aponte said.

The man had a loaded gun on him when he was arrested, Aponte said.

His name was not published immediately.

No one was injured in the mall, police said.
