SAN JOSE, CA – The morning after protesters demolished his home, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo thanked the neighbors who emerged to clean up the mess.
“I am very encouraged by the reaction from dozens of my neighbors who dropped everything last night to spend a few hours removing graffiti from Jessica and my home,” Liccardo said in a statement on Saturday.
The mayor’s home was attacked by protesters at around 10:30 p.m. Friday, spraying explosives, firing paintballs and burning a flag in front of his home.
Liccardo was not at home at the time. His neighbors helped clean up after the protesters left.
“Many of these neighbors’ houses wear” Black Lives Matter ”
Signs, and they represent the true spirit of the movement and our San
Jose Community, “said Liccardo.
