San Jose Health club Defies Well being Orders and Stays Open to Indoor Exercises – NBC Bay Space
According to a Mercury News report, a San Jose gym fined $ 550,000 for resisting health orders by being open to indoor exercise for months.
That dollar amount charged against the gym increases every day the business remains open for indoor use despite Santa Clara County’s public health regulations.
The gym, California Ripped Fitness, is exercising its constitutional right to protest. A sign on the front door reads: “This protest and the decision of the people to gather peacefully are protected by the first amendment.”
The owner also said health clubs are essential and should stay open.
The gym opened at 5 a.m. on Friday. Several people were waiting to get in, but no one was ready to comment.
