San Jose Police Search for Brash Food Trailer Thieves – CBS San Francisco

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Police have sought help from the public to find a stolen food tag and identify the thieves who brazenly drove it away in San Jose last week and devastated the local family.

Detectives said the trailer was stolen from a parking lot on Berryessa Road and Capitol Avenue on Sept. 13. The crime was captured on surveillance video.

This video, released Monday by San Jose police, showed a white Chevrolet truck arriving at the site and a man with a back baseball cap starting to work on the trailer hitch. The truck drives back, connects the trailer and the thieves then drive away.

The trailer has purple colors and is decorated with “Adelita” on the side.

“This trailer belongs to a family and they have lost an important source of income for small family businesses during these tough economic times,” San Jose police said in a press release.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, owners – Juana Quiroz Ayala and Francisco Ayala – bought the trailer for $ 70,000 and opened Adelita Cocina Centroamericana y Mexicana in 2015.

“We don’t know what to do now,” Ayala told the newspaper. “We hope to God that people will have the courage to help us – that we can still have our dream, that we can get our business back.”
