San Jose Sharks-Vegas Golden Knights Sequence Postponed On account of COVID

The NHL announced Friday that it had postponed San Jose’s “home games” against the Vegas Golden Knights, scheduled for Monday and Wednesday in Glendale, Arizona, as some members of the Golden Knights organization have concerns about the COVID protocol .

Three Golden Knights coaches are among the four team members being isolated to comply with NHL COVID protocols. The NHL said the Sharks v Vegas games will be postponed later in the season in San Jose.

With the cancellations in Arizona, this means that San Jose will open its home schedule at the SAP Center on February 13th and 15th against Anaheim. Last week, Santa Clara County announced that both professional and college competitions could soon resume.

The Sharks will be leaving Arizona for San Jose on Saturday, where they will continue their drills in preparation for their next game on Friday, February 5th in Anaheim. San Jose will play four street games in Southern California – two in Anaheim and two in Los Angeles against the Kings on February 9th and 11th – before returning to the Bay Area for home games after the season begins with 12 street games.

The Sharks had to train and prepare for home games in Arizona as the Santa Clara County’s contact sports ban had banned the team from playing at the SAP Center.
