San Jose’s Santana Row is reopening outlets and eating places

SAN JOSE – Santana Row in San Jose has opened some retail stores and some restaurants for al fresco dining, the target retail center announced on Friday as a welcome counterpoint to coronavirus-related store closings.

Seven retailers are now open for shopping and services on Santana Row, according to Federal Realty Investment Trust, the main owner of the mixed-use commercial complex.

Six restaurants are now open for al fresco dining, according to Federal Realty.

“We look forward to seeing you again on Santana Row,” said a post on his website.

Retailers open on Santana Row: Boutique Harajuku, Franco Uomo, Free People, Laser Away, Penelope Boutique, Sleep and Tranquility Dental are open for in-store services and shopping. Franco Uomo was only open by appointment.

Al fresco dining is available on Santana Row: Amber India, Maggianos Little Italy, Ozumo, Pizza Antica, Rosie McCanns Irish Pub & Restaurant, and Zazil Mexicana Cocina.

A number of orders from state and local government agencies to stop the spread of the coronavirus have hampered business operations or forced them to shut their doors completely under mandates that were put in place in mid-March. On Friday, Santa Clara County officials began allowing indoor shopping and outdoor dining, among other activities.

Federal Realty also rebooted another part of the Santana Row hub and resumed construction of a large office building across from the main center.

A Santana West, a modern office building expected to attract tenants from a tech company, resumed construction on Winchester Boulevard near Olsen Drive in May.

The new office building has a total area of 375,000 square meters and is the avant-garde of a huge tech campus.

“Business and restaurant hours may vary during the reopening period,” explained Santana Row. “In addition, contactless roadside pickup options will continue to be offered on Santana Row.”
