The inexpensive housing mission in San Jose can have a stable wooden body

McEvoy Apartments, a new 100% affordable housing development in San Jose, will feature two 12-story towers over a podium, rooftop gardens, a courtyard, and spacious meeting areas. The project is being built using a solid wood frame with a traditional side system.

One of the towers will include 141 family apartments in one, two, and three bedroom units, while the second tower will have 224 studios for working individuals and couples.

McEvoy Apartments was designed to meet LEED Platinum certification and with the aim of being viewed by everyone who lives in the community as an iconic development that connects and connects communities. The transit oriented development is located near the San Jose Diridon train station.

First Community Housing, a non-profit housing construction group, is developing the project, construction of which is scheduled to start in early 2022.
