The Mayor of San Jose is asking for sedition prices towards Donald Trump

One of South Bay’s most prominent elected officials says President Donald Trump should be charged with sedition for creating an uproar of inflammatory rhetoric about election fraud, missing ballots and stolen elections.

“For this gruesome, disgusting depiction in our Capitol, @realDonaldTrump should be tried #sedition, ”tweeted San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo. “As a formal federal attorney, I’m referring to our closest US attorney general 18 USC 2384 & 2385. May God bless our nation and bring peace. ”

The mayor’s comment comes as chaos grips Washington DC, where a crowd of Trump supporters protesting the 2020 election results stormed the U.S. Capitol.

News said at least one person was shot dead in the building while the city is imposing a curfew and seeking assistance from the National Guard.

For this gruesome, disgusting depiction in our Capitol, @realDonaldTrump should be tried for #sedition. As a former federal attorney, I refer our next US attorney general to 18 USC 2384 and 2385. May God bless our nation and bring peace. https://t.co/6P8s34debs
