The San Jose Dance Theater finds some stolen costumes

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the San Jose Dance Theater costume store was robbed on January 6th. Almost 100 costumes were stolen from the venue.

Now Mercury News reports that some of the costumes have been found.

On January 19, a woman named Cynthia Trujillo-Houde saw something glittering in large black bags on the street.

The bags contained 16 tutus that belonged to the San Jose Dance Theater. The tutus comes from the production of The Nutcracker in the theater. Only the tutus was in the pockets and the matching tops are still missing.

“Of course we are very happy about the return, but hope that we can get back more of the almost 100 stolen costumes,” said Hurkmans.
