The San Jose homicide sufferer was shot within the head, the coroner says

SAN JOSE – The victim of San Jose’s fourth murder of the year died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s coroner office said.

San Jose police officers found the victim – identified as Tong Nguyen, 48, of San Jose – replying to a report from a person on the 1400 block on East Santa Clara Street at around 2:10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Tong was pronounced dead at the scene.

On the day the murder was first reported, police declared a murder but did not disclose how the victim died.

Police have not released any additional information about the case and no suspects have been arrested or publicly identified as of Thursday afternoon. A police department spokesman did not immediately return a message asking for an update on the case.
