The top golf complex in north San Jose is nearing opening

SAN JOSE – The opening of a new Topgolf San Jose is approaching, an event that could bring a major entertainment, sports and dining complex to South Bay.

The North San Jose facility, which is hiring ahead of its upcoming opening, could provide a welcome economic counterpoint to a bleak year of coronavirus-related shutdowns.

According to the official Topgolf Instagram account, the venue in north San Jose is slated to open in April. This is evident from the company’s posts and the answers to questions on its social media platform.

“San Jose Update: OPENING SOON,” Topgolf stated in a March 21 post on his Instagram.

Topgolf operates high-tech driving ranges where people can hit golf balls that are equipped with microchips that record distance and accuracy. Venues usually also include restaurants and drinking places.

“The opening of Top Golf is another hopeful sign that San Jose is on the verge of a strong recovery as we emerge from this pandemic,” said Sam Liccardo, San Jose Mayor.

In the Alviso district in the north of San Jose, the Topgolf complex offers a large, curved structure and a huge golf driving range. The structure seems to have three levels. A long driving range and circular targets for golf shots are also visible.

A Top Golf Instagram post in late March included a video of the venue that also included a brief description of the complex’s functions.
