Traffic death in San Jose is being investigated

SAN JOSE – A solo crash that killed a motorcyclist is currently being investigated, authorities said.

Shortly after 5:10 p.m., officers responded to Hillsdale and Ross avenues in the Rose-Sartorette neighborhood to get a report of the collision, police said on Sunday.

Police said the male motorcyclist was traveling west along Hillsdale when he turned onto a sidewalk and met a parked vehicle in a parking lot and a tree.

He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Santa Clara County coroner office hadn’t released an identity late Sunday.

The death was the ninth traffic death of the year on the city streets, the police said.
