The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at a San Jose restaurant after a worker asked a customer to wear a mask.
Employee Christine Nguyen said: “Obviously, it must be rude to spit at someone who tells them to follow simple rules.”

She explained that the woman ordered and paid shortly before the conflict. In addition, the customer has asserted the right to omit the mask.
Nguyen said he gave the woman a mask, but the customer declined.
Another associate, Michelle Contreras, who witnessed the action said: “This is not the first time she has done it. She did it to two other colleagues, but not so long ago. And she did it to our neighbor. “
Restaurant owner Dat Thieu was absent during Tuesday’s showdown. Even so, he confirmed to ABC7 News that the woman had appeared without a mask at least twice before.
Thieu said he compromised on his last visit so customers can order food and wait outside.
However, after learning what happened on Tuesday and watching the video, he called the police. Thieu admitted that he was initially reluctant to submit a report.
“I don’t tolerate this type of behavior,” he explained. “But at the same time I don’t really understand everyone’s situation, and you know I want to make things worse for people, you know, than they already did. There is no such thing. “

Nguyen said he was relieved that the incident was captured on camera and was surprised to see it in the spotlight.
“Some people need to be held accountable for their actions, so I’m glad they reached this platform,” she said.
“We’re here to serve our customers,” said Nguyen. “Honestly, if you don’t follow the rules, you won’t come in. It’s that simple.”
Umai Savory Hot Dogs has a security camera. However, ABC7 News was told that the incident was not recorded. The restaurant has posted a sign explaining the guidelines for wearing masks.
The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) confirmed that police officers responded to the restaurant on Tuesday. Since then, the owner has filed a police report.
SJPD said the woman has not yet been identified. However, they added that the action could lead to an attack on offense.
