A fire swept through a San Jose fast food restaurant early Tuesday morning, the third time in its history that it went up in flames, a San Jose Fire Department official said.
The fire at Wienerschnitzel in the 2800 block of Story Road started around 4:30 a.m. and did not injure anyone, said San Jose Fire spokeswoman Erica Ray.
The first crews saw fire and smoke from the roof of the restaurant. They were able to knock it down in about 35 minutes and had it under control by 5:48 a.m., Ray said. The arson investigators were on the scene, but Ray said the cause of the fire was unknown.
Authorities have closed Story Road both ways on McGinnes Avenue to allow firefighters to fight the fire.
The fire is the third in recent years that crews have put out in this Wienerschnitzel, said Ray.
